Eon and his father sat down around the campfire and none could be heard except the chirping of the insects and the tree branches slapping each other as the wind blew. The rest of the wolves went back to their respective task of guarding the borders of their territory. Elyon didn’t have to tell him that things weren’t the same in the past.
Eon heard his father clear his throat but he didn’t take his eyes off the crackling fire. The atmosphere between them was painfully awkward and Eon felt like he regressed into his young self, fearing his father’s overwhelming presence.
