Chapter 41
I opened my eyes when silence fell over the meeting room, my heart racing as I looked upon the creatures, each one of them baring the prince coated in blood; the blood of someone they had originally trusted. Luka Gremory had been destroyed, ripped limb from limb and the pieces scattered around the table.
I looked towards Felix, my stomach swirling viciously as I saw it; he was holding the head of his father, showing it to his prince as he smiled triumphantly. They all believed that Luka had deserved it for his treachery, but I couldn’t accept that, surely, they could have locked him away and used him; they didn’t even know who he was working for.
I began to pant as I stared into the vacant eyes of the head of the Gremory family, the form I had transformed into faltering as panic swept over me, I was failing to hold the form and I would shift back soon.
