Fire of Freedom

My fears that the enemy pack was trying to tire us out was becoming more and more real to me. Every time we pushed them back, they would send another, slightly larger group to replace them. The sky-shifters had joined us now, and it was thanks to their surprise attack that the last batch of werewolves retreated to their camp. We might not get that lucky again, as they would have warned the others about our new allies.

“We need to bring the fight to them if we can,” I said, looking up at Rem as my ears pinned back against my head. “Even with us taking shifts and our sky-shifter friends joining in, we won’t hold up for too much longer.”

“You don’t even know if the pack leaders are even at that camp,” Rem replied, his brows furrowing down in thought and frustration. He was not as tired as his Hunters, but it was unsure how much longer he could keep this up. The pavements were covered in blood and the odd dead wolf. It wasn’t something I had wanted
