Holding Out

Marrok and Lupe agreed to remain with the Hunters and Rem, as a few more Hunters joined them, while I checked on the pack. Worry filled my heart about how the younger pups were handling the attack. As a Luna, it was my role to handle emotional situations as well as protect my pack. Not that Rem wouldn’t try to do so as well, but he was better to handle the fighting than I was.

Fortunately, the pack seemed to be doing well, though they were nervous with the smell of the strange pack lingering around the mansion. Sam and Ken were helping keep them calm and were there in case they needed to make a sneaky getaway. I was glad to see the two were much more friendly with one another now. It gave me hope that even if my blind date hadn’t quite gone as planned, they at least had become better acquainted.
