As he continued to treat my wound, Xavier's fingers moved gently. "However, it is sometimes at these unexpected moments that we discover something wonderful."

My cheeks flushed, and I averted my gaze, trying to disguise my emotions. "You're a philosopher, aren't you?"

He leaned in closer, his words low and heartfelt. "Only when I'm with someone who changes my perspective on the world."

When our gazes locked, the world around us seemed to fade away. The unpleasantness of the circumstance had evolved into a common understanding.

He was different from the Xavier I knew in the present; he was kind, and he treated me properly although Xavier never treated me well in the present, not once.

Xavier's words poured over me like a calm ocean wind, drawing me closer with each word. His eyes, as deep and tempting as the great sea, enslaved me. Frozen in a moment, the world around us seemed to melt away.
