39: Unexpected Dinner Guest

My phone has been going off since the news of the engagement went out.

Everyone wanted to talk about how great it was. How they were secretly suspecting we had something going on.

When dad figured out the plan, he’d not been happy. Hence the confrontation yesterday in the morning. After I explained why I did, he felt relatively better.

I think he was more heartbroken and hurt by the fact that he made me feel like I couldn’t meet him about what I wanted. And he apologized for that.

Really, the best father anyone could ask for.

I haven heard from Lucian and I try to tell myself I wasn’t disappointed. This is what I wanted. I told him there were no strings attached.

Now I was pissed he didn’t bother to call and check in.

I mean, after the time we had I would think he would at least try to…I don’t know, just try something!

Everything was going well and according to plan. Mum is already way in over her head and planning the wedding.

The first wedding in the family since her and dad’s
