The party was in full swing when we finally went down. Lucian met with me halfway and we socialized with the guests. Most of them were people I’ve known all my life so I only introduced them to Lucian.

He was actually polite when he wanted to be.

I had a feeling even if he was being an asshole to them, they would still kiss his ass. There was something about him that automatically made people want to give him what he wanted.

I had a little panic attack when the time to toast came. I couldn’t not drink in front of so many people.
