29 - Tree Nut

Kael was sitting on his bed with his eyes shut when he suddenly felt something was amiss. He opened his eyes, tilted his head, and his eyes narrowed. Almost at the same time, the door he was staring at opened.

“Alpha Prince! There’s something you need to know,” Jed hurriedly said while closing the door.

A sigh escaped Kael’s mouth. He playfully leaned his head back and closed his eyes as though he was meditating.

“Hm, what is it?” he asked his assistant.

Jed approached him closer, making sure nobody else would hear what he had to say.

“A report came from the East. They found more rogues,” Jed exclaimed.

Kael’s eyes remained closed and his arms crossed in a relaxed manner.

“Oh, rogues,” Kael uttered. Then he smirked, “They keep coming when there’s an event, don’t they? I wonder what the elders feel right now. Should we head out and check?”

Jed shook his head, his face twisting in frustration and urgency, “No, Alpha Prince! This isn’t the time for that. General Argus has made his claim
