Chapter 4

"Are you free tonight?" he asked.

"Uhm, I don't think so. Why?" she replied.

"My mother will be coming home tonight. She wants to see you," he answered excitedly.

"Really?! Aunt Nisha will come home after ten years?" she asked surprised and excited can hear on her voice.

"Yep," Third replied.

"Okay. I'll just call you when I'm free tonight. You know being a secretary is very hard. If my boss had a hectic schedule, I'm sure that I will be having hectic schedule too," she said jokingly.

"Of course, I understand. Anyways, my mother will understand too if you're not coming with me tonight. She will be here for a month so we had so much time to bond together," Third said and she can saw a smile on his face even though they can't see each other.

"Okay, best friend. I'll just call you late," she replied and hang up the phone.

She sighs.

Third was her best friend since they were in grade school. Third always followed her wherever she went. One day, she asked Third why he always follow her. Third replied that she was really beautiful and had a good heart so she captures his heart.

From that day, Nicole always talk to third and hang out with him until they became best friends. She always got his back and he got her back too.

After she hangs up the phone, exactly that Jacob comes over.

"Who are you talking to?" It asked her.

"You had no right to know whom I'm talking to," she replied and rolled up her eyes.

"I am your boss and that's against my rules," he replied like he was a possessive boyfriend.

Her eyebrows narrowed.

But then, she remembered Jacob's company's rule.

She sighed.

"It's my best friend, Third," she replied and started to browse on the iPad she had to check what was Jacob's next schedule.

"What did he say to you?" he asked curiously.

"Is it not yet enough to tell you who I am talking to?" she asked and raise her voice.

Jacob averted his eyes and walked toward his desk and sat down on his swivel chair.

"Okay, fine. What's next on my schedule?" he asked.

"Next meeting with the marketing department," she said quickly and looked at Jacob.

"Hmm," Jacob hymm and turned back his swivel chair.

"Are you coming with me?" Jacob asked and she was shocked because she was not expecting Jacob to talk to her like they are so close.

"What?" she asked back.

"Uhm, nothing. Just come with me," Jacob replied which made her mouth gape.

"Sir, I want to stay here since it was just on the fifth floor of the building," she said.

"But I am your boss," Jacob replied.

She sighs.

Yeah, he's right. Who am I to disobey him? -_-

"Okay, fine," she said and then picks up her bag and stood up.

"Let's go. The meeting will start in thirty minutes," she added which made Jacob turn around and looked at her.

She doesn't know why Jacob was staring at her like he was dreaming.

"Does any dirt was in my face?" she asked with eyebrows up.

"Ehem," Jacob hymn and averted his eyes.

"Nope. There's no dirt on your face," he replied and he stood up.

"Then, let's go," Nicole said and preceded her to walk on the door.

Jacob walks and then they both went out of the room.

While they are on the elevator, Jacob couldn't stop himself from asking Nicole.

"Uhm, Nicole?" Jacob said without looking at Nicole.

"Yes?" she answered.

Answering Jacob's questions looks unprofessional but it's okay with Jacob because they were so close before. And they both used to talk like that since day one.

"Are you dreaming...?" Jacob said slowly while staring at the door of the elevator.

She was shocked by his question.

Does he know that I can do Lucid dreaming? :0

"Uhm, yeah. Of course, I dreamed often and a lot of things including you-- I mean, including the universe," she said that making Jacob look at her.

"Yeah, hehe... including the universe. That's right," she added.

Jacob just nods his head and answers but he looks unsatisfied with her answers.

She pouted. :3

After some seconds, the elevator tings and it opens.

they both went out and walk quickly towards the meeting room of the Marketing department.

When Jacob sat down on the chair, the meeting started.

NATHAN was in the high mountain in a dreamland where he was often there.

He's just staring at the trees and the big fall in front of him.

He sighed with so much pain.

"If I could only come back to reality," he whispered and a tear escaped from his eyes.

"I told you to think before making a decision," it was the dream goddess who talks.

He looked at her and smiled.

"You're right. So there's no reason to be sad because I chose to stay here forever," he answered and wiped away his tears.

"Just be happy with your decision, Nate. You chose to escape reality. You chose your dream over the opportunity and hope you had in your real life. Now that you'll be forever here, all you need to do is to be happy," the dream goddess said as she fly in front of Nate and made a rainbow from in front of them to the end of the falls.

It made him happy but sad in another way.

Rainbows can make him happy. It was his favourite view even when he was a kid.

"Thank you for making me happy again, goddess," he said while smiling but sadness can be seen in his eyes.

"You're welcome," the dream goddess said and it disappear.

Nathan sighed as he saw the bright colour of the rainbow.

"I chose to be here to be happy. I chose to be real in dreamland. Now that I am forever trapped here, I don't know if my father would be sad or happy," he whispered.

Nathan and his father do not have any good moments in their lives together.
