Chapter Ninety

As soon as she assumed the coast was clear, Valerie made her way to the president’s office for her punishment. The receptionist area was empty, Katie Kallus having gone home it seemed, and inwardly, Valerie prayed Holbert had decided against waiting for her and left as well.

She wasn’t that lucky.

“Come in.”

She took a deep breath, fortifying herself against whatever was about to happen to her. Turning the knob, she entered Holbert’s office.

“Ah, good, good. You remembered our appointment this time.” He stood, rubbing his hands together as he raked her with his lecherous gaze.

Just the way he looked at her made her feel as if she needed a shower. “Yes, sir. As I said this morning, I truly am sorry for what happened Monday. I’ll do whatever I can to make it up to you.”

He moved around to the front of his desk and sat on the corner. “That’s good to hear.” He crossed his arms over his chest, narrowing his eyes as if deep in thought, but she knew it was all an act. “Now, the question
