Caleb’s smile slowly disappeared from his face. However, since Ember was around, he still made an effort to retain his smile. “It’s my duty to protect them. There’s no need to thank me.”

“Of course I have to. I’ve always been the one to take care of them, so it’s my fault.” While Lugh’s tone was gentle, one could sense the aggression.

Avery looked admiringly at Caleb, and said happily, “You’re great! You scared him away with just a few words!”
