Ember felt consoled when she looked at the youthful, smiling faces of her students as they rallied around her passionately.

She stayed in school for a little while longer. After she was done with her work, she received an emergency call from the hospital.

“Doctor Ember, please come back quickly! A special patient has been admitted, and we need you to take a look right now!”

For a surgeon involved in emergency care, something like this was nothing out of the usual. Ember hung up, then quickly went to the hospital.
