The First Encounter

Cassie was immediately alert. She got up and reached into her drawer for her gun. Call her paranoid but there was a time she felt she was being watched she had gotten herself a gun then. She also attended a martial arts class because she felt she needed to know how to defend herself. She hid behind her door with the gun in her hands and listened. The intruder was taking rather noisy steps and it's either he thought she wasn't home or he was just really arrogant. Either way he would soon learn that he had picked the wrong person to mess with. After the count of three she immediately opened the door and pointed her gun at the intruder.

"Ahhhh", Sarah screamed

"What the hell?!", Cassie yelled

"Sarah what the hell are you doing here?!"

"And what the hell are you doing?!"

"I thought you were an intruder", Cassie replied putting her gun down

"How the hell did you get in here anyway?", she asked

"Um don't you remember that one night when you were really drunk and I had to bring you home? I saw your passcode that day when you were trying to open the door. Now for God's sake put that thing away. You nearly gave me a heart attack.", Sarah replied

"Fine whatever", Cassie replied going to keep her gun in her room

"You could have told me you were coming though", Cassie stated as she plopped lazily on the couch

Sarah Lee was her best friend. Her only friend. They had met in high school after she lost her mom. She attended a high school that was meant only for the elite. All the kids there were children of rich families. As a scholarship student they already treated her as invisible because of her status and that wasn't about to change just because she lost her mom.

So one day she was seating alone at lunch as usual, staring at the mac 'n' cheese in front of her as she remembered all those Sundays when she and her mom would prepare mac 'n' cheese together. The tears just came pouring down. And Sarah, she had come to seat with her. She looked up at her as she reached in and hugged her. She didn't say anything. She just hugged her as if she knew that was what she needed at that moment. Ever since that day Sarah had sat with her at lunch everyday. Apparently, Sarah had liked her for a while now and wanted to be her friend but was a bit too shy to come and talk to her.

From then on they became friends. Really close friends almost like sisters. She was there for her every step of the way. Even when she wanted to start Turner Enterprises Sarah had offered to help her with some money but she had declined as she didn't want her success to be attributed only to their friendship. Now Sarah's family company was one of their biggest partners.

"I did. I called you like 15 times but you weren't picking my calls so I got worried and decided to come check up on you", she replied

"Are you alright?", she asked

"Why are you asking? I'm fine as you can see.", Cassie replied looking away from her

"Really? Because it's past 10 am and the great Cassandra Turner is still at home. If that isn't a beacon that something is seriously wrong i don't know what it", Sarah replied. Cassie sighed she knew Sarah was right.

"So go on tell me what happened", Sarah said sitting on the couch beside her

"I met with my father yesterday.", she started

"You did?"

"Yeah.. Yeah I did"

"And what happened. Did it not go well?"

"I don't know. I just felt really sad and hurt"

"Well what did he say. Did he apologize"

"Yes he did. He even said he could explain. Sarah I think I just lost it at that point. I mean what could possibly explain him abandoning me like that?", Cassie said breaking down

"Awwn come on now he probably had a really good reason"

"I don't know Sarah. I couldn't really listen to him anymore at that point. I just walked out" Cassie continued crying.

Sarah immediately pulled her into a hug comforting her "Hey hush now.. It's okay....... It:s alright no more tears it's gonna be okay hm?"

Cassie finally calmed down a bit

"Feeling a bit better?", she asked

"Yeah a bit.. but I don't think I can go to the office today"

"And I wouldn't even want you to. Come on get dressed. Put some concealer on those puffy and swollen eyes. I'm taking you on a fun filled trip for the whole day something to clear your mind. And I'm not going to take no for an answer"

"Come on now", she continued as she pushed Cassie towards thw bathroom

Leo was sitting in his office when his secretary came to inform him that he still had an appointment in Kingston that day. He looked at tbe time. It was 10:30am and the appointment was by 1am. But seeing how it felt like he was going to drown from thw pile of work. He felt he needed some fresh air so he decided to head over to Kingston now by car. "Maybe he would walk around the city and enjoy the scenery a little before his appointment", he thought. He got up, took his car keys and told his secretary he was heading out. He wanted to be free today.

"So where are we going?", Cassie asked Sarah who was currently in the driver's seat

"To Kingston", she replied

"The city is absolutely beautiful this time of the year", she continued

"Alright", Cassie replied as she started humming a song. If any of her workers saw right now so relaxed and humming they would probably have a heart attack. She smiled at her own thought. When Sarah saw her smile she too broke into a smile. She just knew that this trip would be good for Cassie. She had a really good feeling about it.

After they checked in their hotel which was the Elite Star Hotel. They decided to explore the city a little bit after they had brunch. They hadn't eaten anything yet and it was a bit too late for breakfast so they decided to have brunch instead.

After they finished eating they decided to go to their rooms to freshen up a little bit. They decided to meet at the lobby in fifteen minutes. Cassie decided that although this trip wasn't planned she would try and make the best of it by trying to relax and loosen up a bit. So with that conviction she decided to wear a pair of denim shorts, a white long sleeved button up top and have her hair in two braids and matched it off with a pair of ankle boots. All in all the outfit made her look really young and youthful. When she was satisfied with the way she looked she headed downstairs to meet up with Sarah.

As she made her way downstairs, Cassie turned a lot of heads with her stunning looks but she ignores them all.

"So are you ready to go?, she asked Sarah as soon as she spotted her. Sarah too was also wearing something similar.

"Yes let's go", she replied

"So where do you wanna go?", Sarah asked Cassie

"The park", she replied

"The park? I'm sorry who are you and what have you done with my friend? The great Cassandra Turner wants to go to the park?", Sarah exclaimed

Cassie just looked at her and laughed then she replies "I just wanna feel happy today"

"Ok then girl you know I got you covered"

Leo had just arrived. He decided since he still got some time till the appointment he would walk around the park for a while and clear his head. As he was walking along the park he looked at the different rides and there in front of the line candy store stood the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She was dressed simply in a pair of denim shorts, a white long sleeved shirt half tucked in and had her hair in two braids. She wasn't wearing any make up and that made her look all the more beautiful and youthful. As he was staring at her she also turned to him and at that moment by pure accident their eyes locked and it was as if the world had stopped for both of them.
