Where to now?

Within seconds I was completely drenched from head to toe. I had bruises all over my body and my mouth was still bleeding, it's pouring down rain and I have no where to go, I took off running knowing I had no time to rest. It wasn't possible for me to go to any of my friends houses, most of them had no idea what was going on, I couldn’t call anyone as I didn’t have my phone. Plus most of their parents were acquainted ennough with Steven they would just call him and let them know I was there. It would be reported as yet another run away scheme and not what it really was an escape from the prison they call home. Suddenly I remembered what Zoey and her twin brother Jaylor had told me, they have a treehouse with a bed in it where their father use to take them camping, to go to the treehouse if I was ever in trouble. Jaylor was the only one that knew the whole truth about what Steven had done. Zoey just knew part of it, I couldn’t bare telling her the whole truth she was my best friend and she would most certainly try to kill him to protect me. Jaylor figured it out on his own. I had to make him promise not to tell Zoey. I have finally gotten far enough that I decided it would be safe enough to come to a walk. While lost in my own thoughts I instinctively head to their tree house. I just want this nightmare I call life to end. Why couldn’t I just be like everyone else my age with a loving family? I reach the tree house its absolutely huge… I was stunned. I had no idea it was this big, I alway thought it was just a typical small treehouse, it's a mansion in the trees. It's completely breath taking beautiful. The deck and or patio is made out of a beautiful natural colored oak. The front door was that same beautiful oak. There was a glass screen door in front of the thick oak door. The railing and the trim around the door was also a beautiful oak stained a warm rustic red. On the patio was a beautiful oak tree ring made into a River table and tree stumps as chairs made to match. The patio was completly covered so I would not be rained on once I got up there. Aside from me only their family knows about. This was the last thing their dad built before he passed away. Their dad built it on private property there was nothing else around for miles aside from the beautiful pond and garden. I climb up the stainless steal ladder and knock on the door first to make sure no one is here just as I get ready to enter into the treehouse Jaylor answered the door half asleep and confused. When he realized it was me he stepped to the side and grabbed my wrist and pulled me in. As soon as he shut the door and turned the lamp on he looked me up and down. He asked, “What in the world happened to you?’ I looked away ashamed of what had happened. “You don’t even have to say it, I know it was Steven again. Why did you come here tonight? You said you would never leave your sisters behind. Are you finally done with your family?” I knew I would have to speak. Jaylor has spent as much time in the treehouse as he could since his dad passed away. I told him what happened and I could never go back to that house again. I couldn't call it home because it had never really been my home. Home is somewhere you are suppose to feel safe and love… Steven’s house could never be my home I would never be safe or loved there. As I was finishing up explaining everything to Jaylor I passed out. He almost didn’t catch me in time, seeming how we were the only ones there. He went ahead and carried me to the room intended for his sister and laid me down. Instead of going straight back to his room he left the treehouse. My fever was getting worse and I was burning up. Touching my head was like touching a hot cook top that still hasn't completely cooled down.

When He came back to the treehouse it was already morning and I was still getting worse. He came back with a bag of stuff from the store and somehow he managed to get my phone. He made us some coffee. I was shivering to the point that he could hear my teeth chattering when he was bringing me the coffee. I got up and moved to the kitchen table. He covered me with a blanket as I was still shivering. The pupils in my eyes started glowing red as of a burning fire. The blanket burned up as if it was nothing. The more as I sat there and thought about my step-father Steven the hotter I got. Jaylor sat there and just watched, not knowing what to say and too confused about what was happening to me. Seems with my rage actual fire was coming with it. When I stood up because I had had enough my skin was glowing a beautiful amber color. Jaylor walked up to me and hugged me in that instant I bawled my eyes out and even left snot on his shirt. When I calmed down enough we started to talk about me staying in the treehouse permanently, I wouldn’t need anything as the treehouse was always fully stocked. I was so angry that I started plotting my revenge in secret. Not telling anyone that I was plotting for revenge not only on Steven, but everyone that helped him cover it up. I had tried going to the police, but he has friends in high places and everyone is scared to cross him. As Jaylor was sitting there across the table from me talking, I was writing every name down that had ever helped Steven cover this whole thing up. To be honest I was so focused on what I was writing that I couldn't tell you a word he said and as if he knew that he become silent for a few minutes. Finally he asked me, “Violet are you even listening?”
