Chapter Eighteen: What Are You?

Xavier stood by his office window, drink in hand and stared outside, lost in his thoughts. It had been days since he'd last seen the girl as he'd avoided the very floor she stayed on. She was only confined to the smallest room but her scent had spread throughout the whole floor, as if she had rubbed her body on every inch of the place, and it was driving him crazy.

He growled lowly, clenching the glass in his hand. This was exactly what he hated; his unnecessary and annoying control over him.

He was satisfied in the adept loneliness and lack of emotions for hundreds of years, but this human girl had come and destroyed everything.
