Chapter XCVIII

The imperial caravan this time was longer than the previous ones, it boasted almost a hundred carts pulled by horses, carrying different types of wares, weapons, and foods from the empire. Marching on each side of the carts was the usual number of guards. Seeing this just made it much more enticing for the shadows that were lurking within the forest.

A lot of them had anticipated the said cargo months ago, after being able to come across some news that came from the empire.

All of the people who were hiding began to emerge from the shadows. One by one they began taking place atop the trees, some near the bushes to the road, and others even moving closer

“Do you see all that food,” Giro a thirteen-year-old boy felt his mouth water while crawling out of the bushes to take a better look at the cargo that was coming their way.
