Chapter 20: THE FIRST COURT

"I see the case clearly, and I believe I can prove you innocent," Henry said, oblivious to the fact that Louis was gazing at him. Louis sat like this for an hour, while Henry kept talking about the case, the things he had researched, and the absurdity of contesting the evidence at the prosecutor's office.

"Why are you assisting me?" Louis now intervened to silence Henry's statements. Henry's stare softened, but he swiftly lifted his hand to straighten his thick spectacles. Henry's physique, which was already yellow and devoid of substance, and now is even worse; it appeared as if he hadn't slept in days. Louis continued to glance at Henry with half-wary, half-expectant eyes, “If you take this case, won't you ruin all your years in law? Worth it?"

“Or can I be famous?” Henry looked directly into Louis' eyes, his eyes were full of cold rays but also extremely confident. "How do you know I will lose this case. This is my first lawsuit and if successful I will become a very famous lawyer.
