CHAPTER THIRTEEN

“Hmm…, this yummy, I have really miss those homemade meals a lot” he said chewing nods.

“So what are you saying, that I’m not that good” kaima exclaimed.

“No, babe you are the best, I wouldn’t lie Mom still get the skills” he brutal his head fling from left to right, he demonstrated with his hand. Making sure his eye never meets the dismay in Kaima’s eyes, he knew she wasn’t accepting defeat from any one.

 Bisi smiled “my beloved, you’re so good” she tact.

“Babe, you won the competition already” he caresses her cheek, Kaima felt alive, as she expressed by exposing her white teeth.

Bisi wipes her mouth, Adex pulling a huge part of a chicken lap into his mouth “Adex”

“Mmm” his reply proves his was so much into the chicken in his mouth

“Is no longer a news, there is protest coming up. It sounds like a revolution, against the government. And there is no way my son will not be involve. I have always been proud of you and everything you do. But you should know this son” staring into his eyes “I lost you father, because of this same mindset “I want to save the world to save my people” Adex look this woman sitting beside you” direct to Kaima “she’s too young to be a single mother, it just few a few weeks left for you two to tie the knot” Adex gaze at Kaima with so much aggressive, his anger flame like a burning firing, Kaima knew at once the word Bisi was saying was like a pin insert all over his body.

“I think this wonder moment we are having here, might end up in a fight and I’m not ready for that now” he whispers in a calm voice smirk

“that is rude, how could you say that” Kaima grumble

“I will shut up” he yelled “look Mom I have to take my leave” he wipes his mouth, stood.

“how dear you, have you lost it, I never train you to be rude to woman, you must apology to her” she stood, her voice came with an authority. Kaima was still stabilize from the word she got from Adex, she stares at him, as the word kills her softly.

“I will take my leave” he said, making sure he never meets her eye, she walks to the door, he notices she was with him “I’m leaving this house now and I’m not coming back for what so ever” he turn

“The door is open, no one bothered” she walks to her

“You told her, why? how could you betray me” he said furiously

“So that, they will kill you like the killed your father” Bisi roared

“Mom please stay out of this, so that is what gave you the guts to say that to me, Adex I can see how this have turn you into a beast, I would really, accept if you go straight tell me you are tired of this relationship” she folds her hands stares into his eyes, she is broken.

“No my dear, it hasn’t gotten to that” Bisi console

“Mom, it has, since he now makes decision on his own, what he said is what he do, no one’s words mean nothing to him, it’s not a way of building relationship” she said so aggressive

“I think is best now everyone know, it’s not too late to all it a quit, to cut off the wedding” Adex said so bold. That came like a shock of life to Kaima, she was broken bit by bit. Bisi shock to her breathe, turns to leave

“I dare you to step out from this house” Bisi said in so much authority

He ignored her leaving “I’m making this promise to you, it would be best, you never say those words than to destruct you. I bet you will regret every single word you just said. Your family and unborn child. You would” Adex left. He knew what he said was true, he felt some sort of, as if a stone was hit on his chest, he holds at the spot he was, inhale so deeply as he breath out, he wanted to held his chest so tight. He has to show no sign of pain, he turned glance at Kaima, tears have already make it way down her cheek, she wipes them, it fuels the pain more. He moves with so much speed to show no weakness. In the car his head place on the sterling as he clutched his heart so tight, the pain keeps burning his heart, he folds his eyes, grinds his teeth so hard. The words kaima and Bisi said keep popping into his heard. Adex was as stubborn as his late father, whenever he decided to do something, he stop at nothing to accomplish his desire, Adex took up such mind set, he was so determined with his mission and will stop at nothing to get a satisfaction.  He starts the engine, Kaima impose to sit on the couch, her body recovering from the shock she just received, Bisi sits beside her

“my dear, please take it soft with yourself, I don’t want you stressing that innocent thing in your tummy, please be easy with yourself don’t. I don’t want you panic or drop a tears over this, we would get over this” she consoled, pets her back. To Bisi Adex was just expressing his rage, he jokes about gotten of the wedding. Kaima was like a life support to Adex. A lot of time he had issue with her, he would call her to help beg Kaima. To Kaima she felt her relationship was falling apart, she has known what love was in this relationship, she has built her walls all around him. Adex was her first love and still have that position in her life, it might be the end of the world for her, if he calls it a quit. The way things were going recently, isn’t encouraging, she felt like her relationship with Adex has gotten to a limit, what Adex said was a clear message which every human would understand but how possible is she going to survived it, it more like a dead sentence.

     Kaima slept in Bisi’s house, the whole night sleep was far away from her, tears were her only comfort. The room was lonely and cold. Adex walks into the house, in the bedroom, he sat on a sofa, staring at Kaima’s picture placed on the cardboard, in a frame, on the mirror side a written note that says “hi love, how was your day, super stress I guess, I just want to remember you about your drugs, please remember to take it before going to sleep, in case I forgot, as we say, health is life. love you” kaima wrote, it was just written in bold. Ever since she found out about Adex condition, she never joke with his drugs. Early in the morning she has already placed it for him, before he sleeps same, she makes sure he doesn’t skip before he sleeps, he has never taken it serious like she does, I guess because she’s a doctor, at list even when she isn’t around, the note is enough to bring his attention. After reading the notes, he stares back at her picture which was just staring back at him with a smile, throw himself to the bed. The next day, she prepared for work, she took her bath wore same wear she was with, it wouldn’t be possible if she decided to go back home and change, she wasn’t ready to face another drama and beside she was late already, she compose herself, makes sure her day was never going to push her back. She looks her best, she has to be in her right set of mind to avoid making mistake in treating and describing, drugs for patience. After the has end, she has already concluded with herself, to go pick her luggage and go stay with her Aunty. Adex was just in the sitting on his laptop, she seeing ignored, walking direct into the room. She smug her wears into her baggage from the ware drop, Adex walks in

   “you didn’t come home last night?”  she ignored. “are you for real, where are you going” she glares at him, turn to what she was doing, she picks some of her best shoes from the shoe stand, pack them in a handbag. He grinned “I’m not allowing do that, you are wife” he exclaimed, she looks at him so divested “yes, that’s who you’re, and I’m not going to allow you to take my babe to where I don’t know about” he added, as she was about leave the room,

 he held her bag “Adex I’m not in the mood for this, I will please, let me go in peace” she said so calm,

 faced her “I’m not letting you leave this house; we can just forget about everything” he tact

“forget about what, you’re tired of me, you are tired of this relationship. It was all clear to me, you want your way out, you said about cutting of the wedding. I have decided to move on with my life, Adex I will do perfectly fine without you” she said looking boldly into his eyes, Adex was shrive to cold

   “That’s so easy with you, you just forget about me like that” he exclaimed

“Please, leave my way” goad. “Adex, I say out of my way” she yells, pushed him. As she was about leaving the room, he held her from the back, circle his hand around her waist

  “you are my wife, you have to forgive, no matter what I have done” he said, in his voice you can read the pain, which keep display on his face, she struggled to set from him

“I’m not your wife, as a matter of fact, the wedding is at the state of pending” she said as she got free from him

    “Kaima I love you, I know   said a lot of stupid. I mean none of that, you know when one is angry he says a lot of things, that is what happen. I’m so sorry ok, I’m really sorry” he pleads held her hands

“look Adex, is better off we call it a quit, because we are not sure of this, happy ending story of ours, let’s just take a break” she console

“You are carry my baby, you that it’s not possible. I can’t without you, you’re like the air I breathe” words were just popping out from his mouth. Hope is convincing enough to stop her from leaving.

“Adex stop, I have heard this like a million and one times from you, but is not working, what we need right now, is too have a break, if it happened we wouldn’t make it to the next level, is fine but if we don’t, I promise I will take care of our baby” she said, in a cold voice, the words just split from the mouth, wasn’t directly from her heart. The look in her eye, scared Adex the more

“how could you say that, you shouldn’t” he grumbled, walks to her.

“I have said it, just live me alone, I’m tired of you and I’m tired of this whole thing, I’m out, I just want to be out” she brutal.

“I won’t let you leave me, we are stalk to each other” he grunts, sometimes when they have misunderstanding. The end up resolving it with a joke or pour out emotions but Kaima never let it caught to her, her mind was made up. Some many times she struggled with him, he held her so tight, he has to struggle to sit her on the bed
