CHAPTER 27| PROMISES
" What are you doing in LA?" I ask as I stare at Caleb. He sighs, clenching his jaw as he looks around the parking lot.
" Who the fuck is he Lauren?" Caleb asks, pointing accusing fingers at Chase.
" She's my girl, you got a problem with that?" Chase says. I turn to look at him and he's glaring at Caleb. He just literally introduced me to Caleb, my ex, that I'm his girl. Damn.
" Can we have a word, Lauren? In private?" Caleb asks me.
As much as I don't want to talk to Caleb right now, I feel like he owes me an explanation on what he is doing in LA. Is he stalking me? I'm thinking two things right now. He's probably cheating on Regina with a girl from LA and he's here to visit her and maybe she's even in there waiting for him to come back from his 'pretentious call'. Every man's excuse and lie. Or he's really stalking me.

The car ride to my apartment is quiet. We're in Miami and it's Sunday morning. I spent the last hour thinking about my relationship with Chase. I can't believe I'm falling in love with my client. 30| HURTRoxie and Tanner watch me in silence as I drink directly from Tanner's bottle of alcohol. I feel like shit and I have never felt like this before. I have always been this carefree person, but the minute Caleb showed up in my life, everything went to shambles.
