Chapter 21: Ice Cream

"Are you okay there, K? Your Dad and I will be going home at 23."

I gulped and looked out the window. I looked at them again over the laptop and I could see the excitement in their eyes.

"I'm okay here. They're really nice to me and I often excel in school. I still pass the quizzes and exams. You don't have to worry." I said calmly.

"Why are you at home? It's Monday today, right? You’re not going to school?" Dad asked, making me nervous.

I just laughed to relieve my nervousness. "I'm not going in today because there's an event at the university. They said that it’s okay if we can't go in. It's a waste of uniform if I still go."

"What event? Isn't the Christmas Party the only event you're looking forward to this month?" Mom asked.
