Chapter Nineteen

Klaire's POV

As far as we were informed, both of the Alphas were set to leave today to have a meeting with the council. Most of my fellow lower-ranks have no idea why, and it actually made me feel guilty that I know why, but I can't tell them the exact reason. First of all, because Leonel was the one who told me. Telling everyone about it will put us in a bad situation. Secondly, I don't want everyone to panic as I don't know the exact details.

I had to bite my tongue and avoided eye contact with everyone, including my friends. Not that they will even talk to me. They are both avoiding me and will walk away whenever I approach them. It hurts to see them treat me like that, but I can endure it. As long as they will be fine.

When we arrived at the mansion however, I heard from the others that only Alpha Leonel left and both the Alpha and Beta stayed. I'm certain it is regarding the fact that our pack is currently receiving threats, so they didn't want to leave.
