Chapter 5

Raven got to her room and she closed the door behind her,

"Dan?"

"Raven I know you don't want to talk to me and I get that." The words came through from the other side of the line.

"Dan you know that soo why would you call me still?"

"I miss you, Raven, I miss us."

"No you don't Dan, you just miss the control that you have over me. That's all you miss, I'm guessing your new relationship didn't work and now you are crawling back to me."

"I know I messed up Raven and I have changed, I am willing to show you what a brand new man that I am. Just give me a chance so that I can redeem myself."

"Go and Redeem yourself to Mandy, as for me I am through with your bullshit. I am moving on and forgetting the past and the likes of you."

"I tried to look for you at your old place Raven but you weren't there, I heard you moved recently."

"I did Dan and it's none of your business what I do with my life."

"Where do you live so I can come and visit you?"

"No Dan I won't tell you and don't even try to look for me, I don't want to see you. You remind me of a phase in my life that I want to forget so badly."

"You don't mean that Raven."

"Sorry to burst your bubble but I do mean it in every way possible, the thought of seeing you again makes me so sick. If you had any decency you wouldn't call me at this time."

"I am serious Raven, I want to marry you."

Those words put her in shock, with that Raven hung up, her phone vibrated a lot and she decided to turn it off. Life was getting good, well too good that the baggage from her past had come ramping in.

Dan knew what he was doing and by saying those words, he knew how to obliterate her wall.

The next morning Raven woke up and did her usual routine of making food when supper time was finished and she was done, she immediately went to her room.

A week had passed and Dan was still plaguing her thoughts not that he made it any better by calling her non-stop.

He sent her long and sweet messages and he knew what he was doing, he knew all the words to say so that she would be enticed to get back with him.

Raven woke up in the middle of the night, she sometimes couldn't sleep because of Dan's call that she had received and the messages she had.

In her dreams she felt inevitably trapped with him, no matter what she tried to do nor tried to escape, he always found her at the end of the day.

She shook her head and looked by her bedside it was two in the morning. She decided to go downstairs and get some milk to help her sleep.

She heated up some milk and drank slowly until she was done. She out of the kitchen, and she kept on thinking about Dan.

"Raven?"

Raven jumped a bit, she turned around and found Damien standing up from the living room couch, she had been too preoccupied to even notice his presence.

Come to think of it the lights were on in there but she never thought much of it.

He wore a black vest that hugged his muscles and black boxers. She was about to say evening when she realized that it was morning.

"Morning, I didn't see you there, "

"I know, what has been going on with you lately?" Damien replied.

Raven tilted her head, "What do you mean? Is my food not okay?"

"No your food is wonderful Raven but you have been very distant lately."

"How?"

"I have been watching you from time to time, and ever since you got that call you have been acting strange. Who was that? if you don't mind me asking."

"I get it, it was my ex. He is all that I can think about ever since I got that call and I can't get him out of my mind."

"Then I will give you a new distraction," Damien replied as he pulled her into his arms, and he lowered his mouth onto hers.
