Chapter 43

Hailey's pov:

As soon as my classes got over, I went to my parents' company. I've never been to their working place because I wasn't interested in those things. Seeing me waiting in the lobby, mom came to me excitedly, "Hailey…"

I brushed her hands on me as I said, "I have something to talk about with you. Do you have time to talk? If you're busy, I'll just-"

She cut me off saying, "No, no. I have time. Let's talk. Come on." And took me to some big cabin. She showed me a seat and took her seat across the table asking me about the thing I wanted to talk about.

I started, "I don't want to beat around the bush so let me ask you straight. Am I adopted?"

She went into a shock after I asked that question for a moment and asked, "What?"

I leaned forward and repeated, "Am. I. Adopted?"

She got up from her seat asking, "Hailey, what are you upto now? Aren't you satisfied enough with moving out of the house already? What's with this question? What made you think like this? Do you think we'
