When Fern arrived at the company, she coincidentally ran into Asher, who was on his way out of the company.

She called out to him. “Asher, are you free for a quick chat?”

Asher glanced at his watch and said, “I have five minutes.”

“Sure.” She walked toward the corner after speaking. He followed behind her.

There was nobody else in this corner of the corridor. She turned around to look at him. “I invited you to my wedding, but you didn’t attend the ceremony,” she said.

A complicated glint of emotions flashed across his gaze after he heard what she said. “You could make do without my blessing.”

She fixed her gaze on him and asked, “Even if you don’t intend to give me your blessing, you shouldn’t attempt to sabotage my marriage, right?”

The dark look in his eyes intensified. “Did Eugene complain about me to you?”

“He didn’t complain about you. He just let me know what kind of person you truly are.” Up till now, she still found it hard to accept the fact that he had b
