32: Thirsty

The morning was well announced, but the house was ever so silent, it felt like a cemetery. The air was chilling and the floor was cold and every step Maria Teresa made echoed in the hallway of the giant house with void.

She grabbed the handle and twisted it open walking on the heart breaking sight she witnessed every morning. It made her go back to three months ago when she heard the pounding on the door and went to open only to see her little one in the worst state ever.

Ethan sat on the window seat resting his head on the glass as he looked at the moist sky and the passersby below.

Her gaze landed on the tray on the nightstand it was like she left it. She was forced to watch him starve himself everyday. She had tried to get him to eat but it was never enough.
