Jesse’s P.O.V.
“Come walk with me?” Percy looked up at me from his now clean plate. I don’t know how he’s able to eat so much and still stay so fit. I’m one to talk though. I ate just as much as he did, if not more.
“Um, yeah, okay.” I shrugged, not really caring either way. A walk after all this food sounded just right though.
Percy got up, leading the way to the river that runs through the pack lands. He knows how much I like listening to rushing water over rocks. The sun was high in the sky, barely past one o’clock now. I closed my eyes, focusing on the feeling of the breeze against my skin. Despite it being summer, the breeze was cool.
"You're very beautiful, Jesse." I opened my eyes to find a smiling Percy just staring at me.
"Don't be weird." I raised a brow at him, taking the lea
Nova's P.O.V.We'd spent most of the afternoon at the pack lands, playing lawn games, participating in races and watching all out brawls. It was a great way to spend our time. I personally was glad that Percy thought of inviting us here. The moon festival seemed like fun and it was apparently a full week thing. Although, it gets a little too rated R for me on the last day. It's when all unmated wolves participate in the hunt if they want. The males chase a female they like and lay claim to their carnal desires for the night. It made me blush when Percy explained what a hunt was for shifters. Apparently, vampires also have hunts of their own, but they usually end in taking the person back to their den and bonding them to the vampire. I certainly never want to be hunted. Metaphorically chased? Yes. Hunted? No!"It's getting late, we had better head to your mom's house." I told Ares, who was
Ares' P.O.V.My birthday ended amazingly. Mom seemed okay when we left. She seemed determined and ready to fight these dark forces. The clover turned to dust this morning, ending the powerful luck magic. I don’t care though, today I get to go off campus with Nova and Gabriel. I won't let anything ruin my day.I put the pearl away last night in my shadow with the other items my dad gifted me. I planned to use the pearl once we have most of the items to break the curse. I want to know what to do with them. I get the feeling he will have the answers I need. I am not set on that though. If I need to see him before that, then I will.I still can't believe Andy was able to give me a gift like that. I can't believe she remembered my birthday as well. She was the only one, aside from my parents, that remembered. She's such an amazing person, even knowing a great witch to help. I wasn't su
Jesse's P.O.V.Ares: Jesse, don't test it, just do what I say.I sucked my teeth as I read his text. I was feeling strong and like myself again. Having Umbra has really helped. I've been training with Umbra any time I get the chance, whether mentally or physically. I think this is the first time I've used Umbra physically though. I feel powerful right now, urging me to hurt Damon."Somehow I knew you'd be here. " A familiar voice had me breaking my focus on my phone. I turned around, finding Cas with his arms crossed, leaning against the tree. He had that playful smirk on his face again as he watched me. His silver hair defied gravity with the way it stood up all around his head."What are you doing here?" I arched a brow at him. I never did set him straight after our kiss. I honestly hadn't seen him since then, or even texted.
Augustus' P.O.V."She's safe now!" Ares flung a vampire across the clearing, causing him to crash into a tree."Well that's just peachy, but we're in deep shi.t here if we don't leave soon!" I yelled back across to him as two vampires fell into my trap. I had them smack into each other with great enough force to knock them out."She's coming for you now. She's pissed that Jesse got away from her. She's going to take it out on you. You better tap into Sombra's abilities for this one." He warned me, without needing to tell me who.I can't remember if she told me her name or not. I probably wouldn't remember it even if she did. I'm just gonna keep calling her crazy bi.tch. I hate vampires, they're just like mosquitos. They buzz around all annoying like trying to get to your blood. They are hard to catch too, but once you have them in sight they are easy to squish. Vamp
Nova's P.O.V.“Manny, who is Aleah?” I finally blurted out as we sat at the bottom of the pond, looking up at the surface. We’d been talking about random things for a while, and I tried to subtly get him to tell me, but he was either ignoring my hints or just not catching them.“Who?” He feigned ignorance.“I promise it wasn’t my intention to eavesdrop, but..” Manny gave me a side eye. “Fine, it was totally my intention, but I heard you with her in your room. What’s going on, Manny? Why did you leave your coven? Who’s the girl you’re protecting?”These questions had been burning in my mind since I overheard them talking. Manny, sat up on the rock we’d been lying on. He narrowed his eyes at me for a moment, before sighing, causing air bubbles to lift to the surface.
Jesse's P.O.V."Cas." I moaned his name as he pushed me against the tree beside the tavern. I had us hidden away in the shadows. I felt him smile as he kissed my neck."I like hearing my name leave your lips, sexy." He whispered into my neck, before he licked it. "Tell me what you want? I'll give it to you."His voice was so seductive and his touches were turning me on. My body didn't crave his skin the same way it craves Damon's, but I was just fine with that. He was skilled, even if the feelings he brought from me weren't as intense as the ones Liam brought out of me. I don't need intense right now. I need simple, easy, comforting, and that's what Cas is."Fu.ck me, until I yell your name as I come down from my high." I wasn't shy as I told him exactly what I wanted without so many words."I was hoping you'd say that." He gave me that ha
Liam’s P.O.V.“You’re so infuriating.” I rolled my eyes at Percy as he hopped from one tree to another in his large wolf form. He was a freaking hyper as/s puppy. He turned around, his tongue sticking out of his mouth. His eyes were always off putting in his wolf form. There were no pupils or irises to stare into, it was like staring into a deep void. Despite that, I could see an excited gleam in them.“Oh no. Don’t you dare!” I yelled at him as he lunged at me, licking my face before I could stop him. “Gross!”I pushed him off me with my shadow, wiping my face off his drool. He howled excitedly. We’d beaten most of the vampires we’d run into as we searched for Jesse. I didn’t think they would go on an all-out raid to find her. There’s more to this than some stupid rumor. I don’t get
Are’s P.O.V.“There you go, that should keep her from entering your room.” I told Auggie as I finished burning the last ruin into the doorframe of his dorm. “The ones on your wrist should keep her from controlling you again. I say ‘should’ because there are still times in the future that I see her taking control of you.”Auggie stared at the black ink on his wrist that I had seared there with his shadow. I still can’t believe how stubborn this Cassandra chick is. She isn’t used to not winning and it’s driving her mad. She wants Auggie to submit to her now, but I’ll try to make sure that doesn’t happen. I stopped looking into Jesse’s future for a little while after I saw her with Cas.That’s an image I wish I could burn away.“Thanks.” Auggie sighed. I could tell he was
