Ch. 49 Jesse
Jesse’s P.O.V.
“Come walk with me?” Percy looked up at me from his now clean plate. I don’t know how he’s able to eat so much and still stay so fit. I’m one to talk though. I ate just as much as he did, if not more.
“Um, yeah, okay.” I shrugged, not really caring either way. A walk after all this food sounded just right though.
Percy got up, leading the way to the river that runs through the pack lands. He knows how much I like listening to rushing water over rocks. The sun was high in the sky, barely past one o’clock now. I closed my eyes, focusing on the feeling of the breeze against my skin. Despite it being summer, the breeze was cool.
"You're very beautiful, Jesse." I opened my eyes to find a smiling Percy just staring at me.

Ares' P.O.V.My birthday ended amazingly. Mom seemed okay when we left. She seemed determined and ready to fight these dark forces. Jesse's P.O.V.Ares: Jesse, don't test it, just do what I say.I sucked my teeth as I read his text. I was feeling strong and like myself again. Having Umbra has really helped. I've been training with Umbra any time I get the chance, whether mentally or physically. I think this is the first time I've used Umbra physically though. Augustus' P.O.V."She's safe now!" Ares flung a vampire across the clearing, causing him to crash into a tree."Well that's just peachy, but we're in deep shi.t here if we don't leave soon!" Nova's P.O.V.“Manny, who is Aleah?” I finally blurted out as we sat at the bottom of the pond, looking up at the surface. We’d been talking about random things for a while, and I tried to subtly get him to tell me, but he was either ignoring my hints or just not catching them.“Who?” He feigned ignorance.“I promise it wasn’t my intention to eavesdrop, but..” Manny gave me a side eye. “Fine, it was totally my intention, but I heard you with her in your room. What’s going on, Manny? Why did you leave your coven? Who’s the girl you’re protecting?”These questions had been burning in my mind since I overheard them talking.
