Ch13. Swapping Luck

My dreams were filled with this memory repeating over and over all night. I woke up only when my alarm sounded at 6 in the morning. I got up gloomy and depressed. I almost ditched school today, but something came over me that I couldn’t shake off. So, I got up, got ready and headed there.
As the bus approached the school, I saw Mia standing with Ben talking. I don’t know what happened but it looked like Mia sent him off.
I came down the bus with the idea of not talking to her ever again; I even wanted to pass by her and not look. But again something came over me and I couldn’t do it. As if I couldn't control myself or my actions.
As I approached her, she smiled. I almost smiled back, but I just put on a cold face. I really didn’t want to talk to her.

☆☆Mia POV☆☆I dropped my body on the nearest chair outside the operating room waiting for any doctor or a nurse to come out and tell us what was going on, but no one came.Kevin’s parents sat down on the bench opposite to me. Kevin’s mom was sobbing soundly, while his father sat next to her hugging her shoulders and consoling her, and trying as much as possible to stay strong himself.I looked at the clock on the wall and I felt the tic-toc was beating in my chest. Ch.19 COMA ☆☆Mia POV☆☆ As soon as we heard the nurse’s words, we all came out, running of the waiting room and headed to the ICU where Kevin was kept. The doctor was already there; he was holding some files and charts while talking to one of the nurses assigned to the care. “Make sure to check his vitals hourly and report back to me” the doctor ordered the nurse as she nodded her head and then he turned his head to us. “Mr Jackson, Kevin’s vital readings are not good. ☆☆Kevin POV☆☆ I kept on losing and gaining consciousness inside my head numerous times, before; I started to feel awake for longer periods of time. I couldn’t move my body or see anything. I could only hear voices around me. First, the voices were lost and vague and then I tried to focus harder and started to recognise a door opening, nurses talking, and different footsteps around me. That was frustrating really, I needed to wake up. I was good and conscious now. I didn’t black out for quite some time.
