SAMANTHA'S POV

If the air wasn't too thick with tension, I'd have laughed so hard at Lucas' reaction till my chin start hurting, so instead, I took a deep breath, trying my best to suppress the amusement that threatened to erupt up inside me. I turned to face the window when I noticed he was looking at me through the rear mirror. I had pushed some buttons and was expecting an explosion but I didn't get any. I knew he'd come at me even harder than his vile words, he was clearly taken aback by what I did and yet, strangely he was calm. That wasn't the kind of reaction I expected from Lucas, there was more to his calm approach and I couldn't wait to wrap my fingers around it.
