Meeting the Family

'No...Nona?'

'Nona! What are you doing?'

Ricky and Julia screamed respectively. Ricky didn't seem to hear what his sister had said, but ran with the speed of electricity to his grandmother, engulfing her fragile petite frame in a tight hug. Jade looked at Julia who rolled her eyes upwards in frustration, and wondered what the latter had done exactly.

'Nona, I was scared. Don't do this to me again, please. I promise, I will come visit you every time I get the chance.' Ricky muttered, fear and panic reflecting in the quavering of his voice. 

Finally releasing his hands from around the old lady's body, Ricky held her face, as though he would find out what had happened to her by doing so. 'Did a doctor see you? Did you wound yourself anywhere?'

Jade realised then that he hadn't understood what was going on.
