Chad and Aaron watched as the woman they found as the mother of the dead lady, moved close to the body bag which contained nothing but the head they found. Aaron had seen a lot of violent murders but this was a first for him; he had never seen a body without a head before. He had questioned the sense of letting her see the head, but Chadwick had insisted that it couldn't be avoided as it was part of the procedure.
"I still don't feel comfortable with this." Aaron whispered to Chadwick as they watched her hand hoover over the bag.
"I sometimes wonder how you became a detective if you can't stomach this kind of stuff." Chadwick said dryly, looking bored a d unbothered by the whole thing. This was a mother discovering her child was dead in the worst way possible.
"Don't you feel anything?" Aaron asked, trying to guess the planet his partner was from.
"I didn't even feel anything when I was at the academy." Chadwick continued in that same bored tone that he a
Hospital(Writer's pov)~Mark watched as Dulce said goodbye to Simon, standing in one corner, trying to not look as they shared a kiss."I can't wait for you to come home." She said to him, blinking back tears in an effort not to cry a river over the recovering man."And I will, trust me and go home to rest," Simon said before turning to Philip, who had his hands folded as he watched them, "Take care of your sister for me, make sure you protect her before I get out of this place." Philip nodded."You don't have to tell me." Philip said in reply to Simon's request. Simon held a hand out and Philip moved closer to take it in his, giving his brother-in-law a tight hand shake."I..." Dulce began, staring at Simon and he lifted his face to look at her expectantly."You what?" He asked when she stopped speaking, giving her a questioning look as he waited for her."I..." She said again, twirling her fingers as she worrie
VeronicaI hadn't been able to sleep after I woke up in the middle of the night to pee. I just couldn't get my head to shut down as thoughts of what Hunter told me, mingle with what my father told me about Kelly danced around in my head. I didn't understand why I was thinking of kelly, or maybe I did understand, but I didn't want to analyze it. Analyzing it would mean that I was envious of her place in my family's life and her strength.Stop!I was already analyzing it.Hunter's words to me made me flinch as I recalled what he said to me, 'You don't have all the time in the world.'He was right, I didn't have all the time in the world to resolve my issue. If what had happened to mother had been worse, I would have been forced to go back home and see them, stepping my foot in the town I swore never to return to. But, I could get strong, resolve my mind and go back to town because I wanted to, not because I didn't have any choice.
Hospital( San Francisco)Writer's pov...Diana got to the hospital in no time and immediately proceeded to the floor where Simon's room was located. She opened the door, only to find the room empty. She came out of the room, panicking that she might have been too late and they had already taken Simon's body away. She stepped into the corridor, looking around when saw a nurse approaching her."I am a relative of the man in the room," she announced to the nurse. "Where is he?""He had to have an emergency surgery so we could save him." She answered."How is he doing now?" Diana's voice shook as she asked the question, dreading the answer but needing to have one.The nurse shook her head slightly, her face solemn as she answered, "It's not looking good, but we are doing our best."Diana exhaled, before whispering a prayer to the heavens that all should go well."So, he had a heart attack even though he was in a coma?" Diana
Writer's povDuncan stood outside Adam's office, taking a deep breathe as he steeled his nerves for whatever Adam had to say to him. His head was still banging from all the fun he had at the casino the other night. If he had a choice, he would have told Adam to go to hell when he received the call at the crack of dawn, but he bridled his tongue and told him he would be there. Now he was there, ten minutes earlier than he should have. He raised his hand to knock after he had taken enough deep breaths only to pause when he heard Adam laughing. He definitely wouldn't have paused if hearing Adam laugh had been something he had witnessed or heard before. He wondered who was in the room with him that could make in laugh in that manner.Or what good news-which was definitely bad news for someone else-could make him happy enough. He looked back to check if the entrance to the corridor he came through was empty. He was alone. He then moved closer to the door and p
Tom thanked his lucky stars as he remembered how Jenny saved him from embarrassing himself. He had been filled with rage when he saw Duncan, his very good friend, had betrayed him. He suspected that Duncan cut a deal with that top hat guy because nothing else could explain why he had enough money to burn the night before after just losing a huge sum of cash.He sat in the same spot he had the last time he followed Duncan and the top hat guy. He sipped on his coffee, his disguise still on his face. He needed to find a way out of his debt before Chronos would decide that he wanted to collect his debt. Time was running out. The funny thing about his situation was that, it was Duncan that brought out the idea of him borrowing from Chronos. He squeezed his fist as he cursed himself for being so stupid. He tried to think of happy thoughts to dispel the thoughts of strangling his so called friend when an image of Dulce floated into his mind. In his mind's eye, he was staring at her ag
Writer's povFlorence came out of her house to find her aunt and sister laying back on the rubber chair she had for relaxing on the porch. It was just a little past nine but they were busy watching the sweating middle aged man as he mowed his lawn.... shirtless.Delilah kept fanning herself as she watched while talking to Janet. "I keep telling you he looks like alejandro in passionate heart."Janet watched Jared as his muscles flexed as he pushed the heavy machine against the grass."I won't say a hundred percent..." She trailed off as she watched him."I didn't say hundred percent, you fool. I just said he reminds me of him with those blazing guns of his....and those packs...." She drawled as she increased the intensity of her fanning.Florence involuntarily carried her gaze from her ogling family members to look at the man they were ogling. Jared was so focused on the task he hadn't noticed he had an audience, and surprisingly, she liked
Writer's povChadwick stood by the side watching his partner knock repeatedly on the door. He knew just from looking at the house that the owner was not available, but he didn't tell Aaron anything before he thought of him as a freak. Not that he wasn't already considered a freak at the precinct. He sighed."I don't think he's home." Aaron said as he turned to face Chadwick. Chadwick had to hold himself from responding with sarcasm. He had been told by many, not one, that people didn't like him because of the way he responded to people. He tried for a while at his old station to change that character flaw, but he just couldn't bridle his tongue. He sighed inwardly as he thought of how shallow his life was. He looked at Aaron who had gone to the other side of the house to look for whatever he was looking for.He knew without a doubt that girls loved Aaron. They all, even the men, saw him as a nice and cool guy. Everyone wanted to be seen with him and
Writer's povMark drove Diana, Dulce and Philip home. His head was filled with thoughts. The silence in the car was not helping him one bit, as he kept running what the doctor said through his mind. Was it possible? Would Adam do go that far? Even if he did, what was his goal? What was he trying to achieve? Was it even Adam? Did Simon have other enemies? He replayed the conversation he had with the doctor in his office."There's something I want to tell you, a suspicion I have that I want to share with you, not because of anything but because I am confused. Though it's clear that he died of a heart attack, I feel it was not a natural cause. I looked in on him before he went to sleep last night and he was totally fine. He wasn't breathing funny, he didn't tell me anything was up. I even asked if he had pains anywhere and he said he was so fine, if not for his jelly legs, he would have followed you all home. I have seen people on the brink of having a heart
