Chapter 98: Incentive

Prodigal opened the door to his small room, gingerly holding his sides as he came inside. He walked past the light switch, preferring to remain in the dark. He walked slowly, grimacing with every step as he walked into the little cubicle called toilet, switching on that light. He rolled the bottom of his black shirt up, staring down at the spot that throbbed. He inhaled sharply when he saw his skin of his left rib cage was pink and raw looking, with blood around the wound. He moved slightly and pain increased, causing him to cry out. He deduced that he had broken a rib thanks to the accident. He looked around and found the white nylon containing some medical supplies he got from the drug store some weeks back. He picked up the ethanol in the bag, not bothering with an absorbent cotton wool as he used his teeth to remove the ethanol cover, spitting the rubber away as he poured the liquid directly on the wound. He yelped loudly, barring his teeth before he bit down
