Nadia’s POV

“Who did you choose,

Nadia?” Mr Baldev asked me.

My heart picked a short

race before slowing down. I slowly unfolded my paper. Looking between everyone,

I revealed the boldly written name of Sidd. I puckered my lips, the clench of

fear in my heart intensifying.

“Who is it?” Veer asked.

“I… I picked Sidd,” I

drawled his name and I saw how a smile crept to his face. Veer squeezed my hand

to calm me down. Ria’s chest heaved up and down in anger as she glared bitterly

at me.

“What do you want her to

do, Sidd?” Mr Baldev asked.

I looked pitifully at

Sidd. He teased me with a wink. “I want her to walk with me till I decide we

return,” Sidd said.

“No,” Ria snapped,

hitting her hand on the table. “No one is stepping away from here. The game is

supposed to take place here and end here. Do you understand, Sidd?”
