Chapter 60: Don't Take My Ring!

Nadia’s POV

I opened my eyes to the

shaft of the sun pouring on my face. I felt a sharp pain around my abdomen. I

grunted, running my hand over my belly.

“Nadia?” I heard Veer’s

voice and turning my head, I met eyes with him. Did he sleep here over the

night? I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. “How do you feel now?” he asked.

Without a reply, I tried supporting myself to sit up. He quickly held my hand,

helping me to sit up.

“Thank you,” I

appreciated.

“Is anywhere hurting you

now?” he asked in a low tone, making concern and fear apparent in his tone and

facial expression.

“Just a slight pain in my

abdomen, but I will be fine,” I assured him.

“Of course. You would be

fine,” he said, squeezing my hand. “I was scared, you know? I thought something

bad was going to happen to you. Why did you take the blow for me?”

“I don’t want to be the

reason for you getting hit again, Veer.”
