She turned around to go to the kitchen. Thankfully, Preston stopped her before she could spill the beans earlier.

“If she asks why, tell her that it will taint the reputation of the King family if she dies due to starvation in our house,” Preston added with a sneer.

He then turned and walked into the study to attend to some business matters.

Luna was sleeping soundly when a gentle nudge on her shoulder roused her. She opened her eyes drowsily to see a servant carrying a tray of food next to the bed.

“Gemma, what's up?” Luna mumbled. “Madam, please wake up and have some snacks,” Gemma said. Luna sat up, her stomach still heavy. After the hearty dinner she had, she was still too full to eat anything.

Gemma gave the door a quick peek before whispering, “Madam, you have to eat something. All of us will be doomed if Sir Preston finds out that you already had dinner.”

Luna examined the food on the tray with disinterest.

Then, she remembered she was not supposed to eat unless she apologized.
