Chapter Sixty Five

Adaline Point of View

"I made breakfast." She says, and I look at her with a frown.

"You didn't have to." I say, making myself coffee.

"I know, I wanted to." She says and I nod.

"Are you not sweaty under all those clothes?" I say, gesturing

"No, I am good." She smiles, but it's so bruised, reminding me of the prediction, her death, not on my watch.

"I am going out today, going to . . . ." I pause, trying to find a perfect place.

"The Library, I will be out all day."

"I culd come with you, I like the Library too." She says, with a wide smile

"No, you can check out the City, I will be busy, and love to read alone."

"Of course. I'll be in my room -- well, your room, I made breakfast, there are options, eat whatever you want." She says, walking away, and I bury the apology coming out of me.

I turn to the counter, checking everything she made. My stomach grumble as I help myself to some Lasagna, rushing the food, because I have to leave.
