Chapter Five.
Erika's POV.
"Don't ever tell me to meet with him again. I really hate seeing him." I dropped the files on David's table while I almost walked out of him.
"I feel like you two can still come back together. If Charles really feels bad for what he did years ago, He looked like someone who is persistent, and wouldn't give up on you." His words made me stopped walking with my hands on the door knob.
I got to my office, and I didn't meet my daughter there. I remembered I had told my personal assistant to make sure to keep her safe.
Where did she go again? Out of worry, I walked outside, and started searching for her. My greatest fear was her meeting Charles. I didn't want him to start suspecting a lot of things.
I didn't want him to start suspecting that Rose might be his daughter. Likewise, I met my personal assistant on my way to look for my daughter. "Where is Rose? Have you seen her? Do you have any idea of where she might be?" I was panicking at this point, and that was the only thing that could save me.
"No! I left her at your office. Isn't she there?" She questioned me, and I bit my lower lips in regret while I walked out of her sight, so I could get to look for my daughter as well.
I then saw her on the last floor, from the floor where I was. "Rose!" I shouted her name so loudly, to the extent that a lot of people diverted their gaze towards me. What was she doing with Charles? I hurriedly used the escalator; that was the fastest means at this point. I had to run on it till I got to where Rose was.
Furthermore, I grabbed her wrist, and then hid her behind my back. "I told you not to come near my daughter." I had to remind Charles. He was right at in front, and he didn't even flinch a little bit at seeing me. He was just there, and he looked at me with no expression on his face.
"What do you think the matter is? Why are you trying to hide Rose from me so badly? Do you have a secret that you are keeping from me?" He questioned me. Even the way I was acting raised his suspicions.
"Besides, the coffee your daughter made just tastes like yours exactly! I bet you must have taught her well." He complimented. What was I supposed to say? Should I thank him? Lol.
"I don't want my daughter to get too attached to you. I wonder what might get to happen once something like that happens. We would get to see later." I told him, and then I walked out of there.
I heaved a deep sigh of relief immediately. Furthermore, I saw that he had already left. Immediately I got to my office, and I held Rose's shoulder with my two hands.
"What did I tell you about strangers? You should avoid strangers. You don't know what they are up to." I held my daughter's arm, while I squatted down to her height.
"It seems like you two are really close. He isn't a bad guy, and he is excellent." She tried convincing me.
"It is not written on their forehead that they are good. You don't know his intentions, which is another reason why you need to avoid him. Yes! I knew him, and he was not a good person. That was the reason why I don't want him to be close with you." I lied to her.
Was that a lie? Wasn't she a bad person? The fact that he broke up with me on the day that we were supposed to get married made him a bad person.
"What was his offense?" She asked with her puppy eyes, which resembled those of her grandmother's. I ain't falling for that. I stood up from my squatting position.
"You ask a lot of questions, honey. You should just listen to what I told you." I walked to my Desk, and I didn't hear anything from her anymore, just like the way I wanted it to be

Later At Night.
I was on the balcony watching the stars, just like I would whenever I didn't feel like sleeping. I heard the sound of the car that stopped right in front of my house.
I came out of my house to check who it was. The car was really familiar.
"Wait? Is that not Charles's car?" I had to look at it again, and then I saw him getting down from the car, and that confirmed my thoughts.
"What are you doing here?" I questioned him after seeing how he looked. There were a few bruises on his face, and he looked a little bit drunk. He looked so pathetic, or maybe there was another word that I could get to use to describe him.
"I came here to tell you something important." He informed me. I looked at the time, and it was almost 12 a.m.
"What is so important, that you would have to come here this way? Looking like this?" I was curious to know what it was. I waited for him while he went through his phone, and then showed me the picture of David with some girls in the club.
That made me burst into laughter. Wait! I wasn't supposed to laugh. "What is funny? Can't you see it well?" He came closer to me while he almost shoved his phone into my eyes.
"What do you want me to do? Cry? Whine like a little baby? If you think you have done me a favor by showing me this, you must be really joking." I had to remind him.
"No! That is not the problem. Your boyfriend cheated on you, and I came here to let you know. At least you should be grateful." He told him, taking his phone back into his pocket.
"Okay! Thank you. You can go now." I wanted to walk out of him again, but not until I felt his hands on my shoulder. I felt the shock running through me again.
It had been a long time since my body reacted that way to someone's touch, and I wasn't on my ovulation period. He turned me back to him while he walked really close to me, so that there was barely any space in between us.
"I don't know what you must have gone through because of me. I had a reason for behaving that way toward you. A lot of reasons." He told me.
"Okay! I'm listening. What are the reasons? Why would you break up with a lady that you have been dating for the last two years? Why would you hurt her feelings? Give me a good reason." I questioned him. He stomped his foot on the ground while he tightened his grip on my shoulder.
It looked like he was finding it hard to tell me what the reason was. "The reason is because of what the doctor told me. I am also feeling guilty about something I did to you in the past." He spatted out.
"What is it exactly? What must the doctor have told you for you to break my heart that way? Guilty? What did you do? That it must be so bad for you to break up with me?"
Chapter Six.Charles's POV*THE NEXT MORNING*I looked at myself in the mirror, while I remembered all that happened yesterday, even though I was hungover at this point. I remembered how I went to the club because I was really heartbroken.*FLASHBACKS*"You should move on from her! It has been five years already; there are a lot of girls out there, and it is so obvious that she doesn't care about you. Do you expect her to go back to you after what you did to her? No reasonable human would do that." Bruce told me while I took another shot of the tequila that the barman had prepared."Yes Bruh! You have to move on. You have to move on. There are a lot of ladies that want you so bad, but you have been snubbing them so hard for the last few years." Tony added. To be honest, I didn't care about what they were saying.I wouldn't change my mind that easily, no matter what. I would prefer to remain single forever than for me to get married to someone else apart from Erika.Furthermore, I spot
Chapter SevenErika's POV.I reached the front of the restaurant, and saw a missed call. It was from the company. I had to call back."This is very urgent, and you are needed. We will be meeting at Luke's company. The meeting was an impromptu one. I am sorry if this got to ruin your plan." David informed me over the phone immediately I called him back.I had to call Raven, and see if she was less busy. "Hello? I have an urgent meeting. Are you less busy? Can you help me watch over my daughter?" I questioned her while she sighed."I am so sorry. I am currently in a shoot, and I will not be able to do it." She apologized to me, while I ended the call. I knew she was the busy type. I was wondering who I was going to drop Rose with.If I were to take her to Luke's company. Things might not get to go well. I looked at my back, and I saw that Charles was still inside the restaurant. His eyes were fixed on us, and he caught me staring at him. That was the only option that I had left. He shru
Chapter EightErika's POVI looked at my friend who was buying some coffee at the restaurant. These people looked so heartless, and I was so scared that they might get to do something to do which I didn't like."So are you going to do it or not?" He called me as that brought me back to reality."I will do it." I started without battling my eyes. There was no way that I would want to see my friend in danger. This was the only thing that I could get to do to save her."We will give you time to get prepared." He told me, while they all walked out of the room..***Later In The Night.I was so hungry, that I haven't eaten anything. My stomach hurts, and the cold was a little bit too much for me. It looked as if I was going to die. I hated this side of me for real. Why does this have to happen to me? Are they even struggling to look for me right now? I bet they must be doing everything in their power to look for me, but there was no way that they were going to see me easily, since this pla
Chapter NineErika's POV.He really looked so serious when he said that he was going to make me his in the end. I guess it would be so fun for me to torment him knowing fully well that I wasn't going to end up with him in the end."Why are you laughing? Is there anything funny in what I just said." He queried me while I let out a huge sigh. "It looked like you are really determined to do it, and that is so cool of you. Let's see when you will give up." I would never allow that to happen while I was still here. I lost my feelings for him, and there was no way that I would end up falling for him again. Furthermore, I did say anything for a while; our eyes bore into each other for a few seconds.I was the first person to break eye contact, just like we did in the past. "You are still bad at keeping eye contact." He laughed so hard at me, and then I laughed also, since we all want to be crazy. He then let go of my wrists while I went to drop the plate right in the kitchenI went back to
Chapter Ten.Charles's POV."Yes, yes, yes!" I squealed in excitement after the news that David just told me. I called Linda, who was outside the office, and she came to me in no time"I need you to do something for me." I told her immediately, and she walked into my office. "What is it?" She questioned me with a smile on her face. I bet she must have seen how happy I was. "I need you to bring me a desk to the office right opposite mine. The lady from Wilson's company will be transferred to ours in no time." I instructed her. "Is that all?" She questioned me while I looked around."Yeah, that's all. There is nothing to discuss anymore." I told her, and she then walked out of the room right away. I talked with David few weeks ago to ask if it was possible for him to talk with her so that I would keep on seeing her, but I didn't know that it was going to be that fast.Furthermore, I wondered what kind of technique that he used, he must be excellent. Did he even have to stress himself o
Chapter Eleven.*Few Days Later*Erika's POV.It had been great for me so far, and it was so funny seeing someone who was trying too hard to gain my attention when I didn't even give a fuck about him. He was willing to do anything for me, but he needed to realize that I don't care about him. There was something that would be happening next week. It was the company's anniversary, and everyone has been preparing for that day. It really looked like a huge day for the company.I was among those who will be planning, and we will also be introducing some of our projects to the people who were there. I knocked on the door leading to Tristan's office.Furthermore, I opened the door immediately, and he knocked. It was then that I saw his mother, who was sitting right there. I haven't seen her since what happened to me a few years ago.I bowed my head. "I think you are really busy." I wanted to walk out of the room, but I was interrupted by her voice."Where do you think you are going to? Do yo
Chapter Twelve.Andrew's POV."What do you think you are doing? Are you sure that out plan is to to work at the end? I am scared that it might not get to happen." Betty was there as she doubted our plan.I also laughed after what she said. I looked at the rainy street as I was staying at the balcony of my house. "We have come this far, you don't expect us to give up, do you? Do you actually know how hard it to to come this far?" I queried her, while I gulped down the whole content that was in the glass cup."I am just scared. We are close to the end of our plan. We have been planning this for the past few years, and it is coming to pass already. We should be done in the next few months." I assured her.I would make sure to take all what's mine, Charles. "Are you also getting closer to him?" I questioned her, while she let out a huge sigh."How do you want me to get closer to him when she keeps coming to my way. Anytime I am interested in doing something, she would always be the one t
Chapter Thirteen.Erika's POV."So you still want to go? Or do I go and meet Betty?" He questioned me while I looked around and took a huge sigh. "I will go." I told him, and I could see how he was happy right on his face. We then walked out of the company together. I could see a lot of people who were talking right behind us. I bet that they must be thinking that we were dating or somethingI knew that gossip like this was going to be common, but there was no reason for me to be bothered since it was not real. We got to where his car was, and he told his driver that he was going to drive. I have Ben expecting him to bring up the matter that happened last night, but since he didn't want to bring it up, I guess I would have to do it myself. He started driving to the location, and then we almost got there. I gave him the courage and decided to ask him."So, in short. You are trying to tell me that you didn't remember what happened between us last night?" I brought it up, and I could fe
