Ingrid was struck silent with fear as she stared into Tessa’s dark eyes. Tessa felt her struggling to breathe beneath the grip she held around her neck, but she didn’t care. With every silent second that passed, Tessa tightened her hold ever so slightly.

“Let her go,” Sonia pleaded behind her.

“Looks like Elijah’s gone soft,” her wolf growled knowing he was the only one who would have removed the cloth from her mouth.

“Answer my question, or your mother dies,” Tessa growled, keeping her eyes locked with Ingrid’s, whose face resembled a cherry.

“He wasn’t held prisoner with me. I had no idea he even existed, and I’m sure my mother would have mentioned him already if she knew they had someone from your pack,” Sonia defended her mother, but Tessa saw the truth in Ingrid’s eyes. The witch was completely aware.

“Wrong answer,” Tessa sneered in Ingrid’s face, watching her eyes grow wide with fear before she fainted. “Damn it,” Tessa growled, releasing Ingrid from her grasp, an
