Prologue

PROLOGUE

A guy with nowhere to go, sitting in the square plaza he finds himself as someone who should be good if dead. People are passing by, yet he still feels as if he is alone. Does the world hate him that much? He thought as almost all of the problems and burdens of the world were pushed to him.

'Why am I even living?'

Thoughts of him started to flow in his mind. Living as an orphan, even his parents don't want him in their life. He lives with no idea who his real parents are. What their names is or even what they look like, he doesn't have a clue. He tried to do everything he could, find a job, earn money, and live a peaceful life. But, his luck seems to be darker than the eye bags under his eyes.

"Leave! I have let you stay here for quite a couple of months because you said you would pay! Now get out! My business is affected by your bad luck!"

The loud and hurtful words of the landlady echoed in his head. He indeed found a job but still, due to his stupidity for not having the chance to learn in school, he was easily tricked by his workmates making him do tons of work but haven't been acknowledged for doing so.

"Tch," he said as he clenched his fist.

"If only I'm someone who's born from love, maybe this wouldn't happen to me..."

Letting go of his feelings, he rested his back comfortably on the bench near the fountain. It is quite hard to be called something you can comfortably lay but compared to the bed in the house he is renting, there is not much of a difference. He didn't bother looking at the people who turned their gaze at him.

'What? Is it a crime to sleep on this bench?' He asked himself.

“I'm full of this world's bullshit. It would be good if I won't wake up again. To be in a dream... yes… a very nice dream… That would be better than this damn reality.”

*snap*

A knock was heard from the door. He almost slammed the table because of surprise.

"Sir Oliver?" It was a girl's voice.

"Yes?" He asked not realizing the one she is calling is someone with the name Oliver.

He doesn't have time to realize his surroundings. The only thing he knows is that he is sitting in a chair, a swivel or office chair to be exact. The door opened. It was quite far from where he was sitting.

"Sir Oliver this is the file you were asking about.'' She said as she handed over the files that were thicker than any dictionaries he had ever seen and there are two of them to be precise.

"The other files will be submitted to you before dawn.'' The girl is wearing office attire and has an ID hanging on her neck, he still can't see what that girl's name is.

'What do you mean other files? Isn't these two far enough to be called as just a file? It's more likely a hell if you are telling me to read all of that'

"Ah..."

"Sir Oliver? Are you alright?"

He's been hearing the name Oliver for quite a while. 'Wait, Who is the Oliver she is talking about? Is it  me?' He asked himself. Looking at his hands, he can't help but stand up abruptly, making the lady be surprised by his action. His hands, it is much thicker than it is before. It does have flesh now, unlike before on where his bones can be seen through his hands. His right wrist has a watch in it. It is fancy and elegant. It would at least be worth all the expenses he had since he was born up to his old age.

Tik Tak Tik,

"Sir Oliver?"

The girl then asked. She was confused about why her boss is acting like that. It was almost lunchtime, maybe he was hungry. She thought.

"What would you like your lunch to be?" She asked as she tried to figure out what his boss was doing while analyzing his own hands.

'Is he hurt somewhere? Did he get a bruise in his hand or something? Should I call a doctor? A physician?'

Her thoughts were blocked when he heard his boss ordered her to get a mirror. She was confused, because the last time she knew, it was his boss's idea to put a large mirror on the wall of his office's north side. It is created which can switch the ability of the glass. It has two options, a see-through and mirroring.

With a confused look, she tried to calm herself.

"The button in the lower corner of the table... It can switch the glass... to be a mirror.''

She was hesitant if she would really say it to him. After all, it was something he already knew.

'That is something I already know. Are you thinking of me as an idiot who doesn't know such a basic knowledge'

She closed her eyes and was ready to hear such words coming from her boss's mouth but the room was filled with silence. Peeking at what his boss is doing, she saw a scene she didn't imagine would flash before her eyes.

'It is true! The janitor said that every time the boss looks in the mirror... His facial expression would change. When the janitor accidentally saw the boss's face reflecting in the mirror, he said that he would devote his life to make him happy because his eyes felt so lonely.'

The topic that had been circulating in the whole building was running like a mad dog. All ears have their own understanding. Some didn't believe it but some did. Some didn't try to mendel and just let it pass by. But as she looked at his boss's reflection, what she saw was tired eyes looking at its own eyes. It's not the usual cold gaze that he always wears. She moves her gaze down, thinking that what she is doing is not good.

"Are there many employees here today?" He asked.

"Yes...?"

'Why is he asking so many trivial questions? I really can't read what's going on in the boss's mind.'

"Is there anything special we should do on time?" He asked again as if he was not aware of what was happening in his company. The truth is, he really doesn't know anything.

"None, the whole building was having works under no major contract as the biggest project had just finished yesterday with no any difficulties..."

"Tell them to leave.'' Her eyes shut open as he looked at her. Is he firing them all? Because they are doing no major projects?!?!? She now can't see what his boss's face is as he switches the glass option and lets the big city under the sun's light reveal itself in front of them.

''You too. You should leave.'' He added with his serious voice.

"S-sir...?" With a worried face, she looked at him.

'Is he firing me or something? I never recall doing work against his orders and in fact, I didn't diligently. That shouldn't be the case, right? Boss is not firing me or something right?'

Her heartbeat is starting to rapidly pump at its original pace, she is confused and worried.

"Tell them to go home and enjoy this time for their family. Stop their work and come back... tomorrow, yeah that's it."

She blinked her eyes for a couple of times before regaining her posture.

"Haha... You are joking, right? Sir? That's... Funny haha"

Her thoughts are now completely broken. With her hands getting moist, her thoughts started to run wild again.

'Why did this workaholic boss of mine suddenly say he would give his workers a day off? Including me? And what's more... to have them spend that time with their family? Did he have a nightmare or what? I know he isn't serious like...'

"I'm serious." He said with his serious voice and face.

"Haha... Right..." Sweat drops can be seen on her face.

The floor felt silent, what was left was only the guards and janitors who were taking care of the building's security and maintenance. On the top floor, Oliver was left alone. It was his order. All the employees will have this day as a vacation. They will be paid even if they go home. Is it because of kindness? No. Oliver did it to have time for himself to think.

"So, first of all..."

Punching his fist in the air, he can't help but scream with no sounds.

    ''I'M NOW RICH!!!''
