Chapter 85
Celia HartHello, readers! I know that Jasmine goes into a bit of an emotionally dark place in this book, and it's not always fun to read about characters dealing with their mental health. TBH, I wrote this book while I, myself, was battling with my own issues and it definitely came out in my writing. I thought it worked since Jasmine is still dealing with the rejection, hasn't been marked by Blake yet, and she's preparing for A LOT of responsibility at only 21 years old. I don't know about you, but as a fellow perfectionist, I'd be freaking TF out if I were in her shoes. I hope you'll all appreciate that I strive to show my characters' full range of emotions. But, as always, would love to hear what you think!

TALIA I opened my eyes to a brunette woman standing over us. I gasped and Alex got up off me. “Fuck! Goddess! Mom!” he yelled, grabbing the blanket and throwing it over me, keeping a piece to cover himself with. “I’m safe to assume that’s your mate?” the woman asked. “Fucking Artemis. TALIA A few days after Alex moved me into his house, the two of us went for a walk in the forest. The day was marginally warmer than it had been, now slightly above freezing. We bundled up so that Alex could bring me to where he normally sketched when it was warmer out. Our feet crunched in the snow that was slowly melting from the warmer climate. We made it out to a clearing in the forest with a river running through it, a large tree trunk had fallen over it like a bridge. “I sometimes sit on that trunk and put my feet in the water during the summer. And sometimes I sit on this rock over here.” He took my hands and brought me over to a large rock that was beside the water. “It’s so peaceful out here.
