An Invitation

Tobias left home earlier than usual the following day. That's good, Minah thought. She didn’t know how to face him after what happened that night. She went back to the master's bedroom to take a shower and get dressed when she heard his car roaring away.

She slept in a vacant guest room for the rest of the night. Leaving the master’s bedroom instead of him felt so wrong, she realized. She couldn't believe why she just let Tobias boss her around, letting him tell her to fuck off just like that.

Her phone rang. Minah walked towards the vanity mirror to pick it up. She stared at herself in the mirror for a moment. Her hand went to her face, feeling her lips that were slightly bruised.
