The bathroom door opened and Ben came out, ready for work. He approached me and sat down before he touched my forehead.

“Your fever dropped, that’s good.” Ben said as I smiled weakly.

“You should go to work or you’ll be late. You’ve already been late too many times because of me.” I said as Ben kissed my head.

“My job comes after you. You’ve been sick lately Leslie, are you sure you don’t want to go to the hospital?”

“Hmm. I’ll be fine if I rest.”

“Are you sure you’re not pregnant?” Ben asked and I hugged his waist.

“No, I’m not. I take my pills; we use a condom and I did two tests with a kit last week.” I replied as Ben breathed out.

“I’ll be home early, so rest. No working, no stress, no reading, rest.” Ben said as he kissed my lip before I chuckled.

“I made no promises.” I joked as he pointed his finger at me before he left the room.

Our trip to Sarah’s house, Isaac’s alpha wife was cut short because I was si
