I handed Leslie a cup of chamomile tea after crying his heart out. The party ended significantly early, everyone going back to their homes after questioning why Leslie cried.

It was my fault; I admit. I shouldn’t have let that woman close to him.

“Thank you.” Leslie said and drank the tea.

I waited until he emptied the cup before I placed the tray on the nightstand in the corner.

“Are you feeling better?” Leslie nodded.

“What about everyone? I really ruined the mood.”

“They’ve all gone home.” I sighed. “I shouldn’t have let her come.”

Leslie smiled. “If you didn’t, she would come to me anyhow. Isaac mentioned she wanted to see me, but I wasn’t ready. Now I’ve spoken with her, I’ve seen a glimpse of the future.”

“And what does that future hold?”

“I don’t know.”

I stared at Leslie, and he chuckled weakly and stared at his hands. “I don’t know, but I know everything is going to be alright.”
