Bang! Bang! Bang!

Confetti and ribbons fell on me.

“Happy birthday!!!” Everyone cheered.

“Happy birthday Princess.” Isaac said and hugged while we laughed like we hadn’t seen each other in years.

“Did you do all this? It’s beautiful, but I told you to go smaller.” I said, and he rolled his eyes before pushing his glasses closer to his face.

“It’s not every day you turn thirty. Now that I mention, I’m ancient.”

I laughed and placed my hand on Isaac’s shoulder. “You’re not ancient. You’re still my adorable teddy bear I loved since high school.”

“We’re just getting to the good part.” Reina said and handed me a glass of wine.

“I can’t drink.” I said.

“Just only a glass for today. It’s your birthday, no kids, no problems, just as adults celebrating another one.” Reina said as I stared at the glass.
