One-sided Love

"Why do you still cook this much when I am the only one who eats? Didn't I tell you to cook just enough?"

For the umpteenth time, Vivi protested the maids, who always filled the dining table with various foods when it was time to eat.

"It's okay. We are just doing our duty to always prepare the best food for you. You don't have to force yourself to eat it all, just eat what you want."

Vivi let out a long sigh before beginning to enjoy her food. She had once been poor enough to feel how miserable it was to be hungry, but in this house, she never lacked food. And that made her feel guilty for wasting food when many people were starving because they didn't have food like she had in the past.

"Is he so busy that she hasn't given me any news? Or did he deliberately want me to contact him first?"

After lunch, Vivi sits in a chair on the back porch, facing the backyard, which is overgrown with various types of trees and flowers.
