Unhealed Heartbreak

Darren's hoarse voice calling her name repeatedly and his sobbing made Vivi's eyes widen in shock.

"Darren, why are you–“

"Vivi, why are we like this?" Darren interrupted Vivi's speech. He spoke in his drunken voice, which sounded like a rant, while his sobs, which got louder and louder, seemed to show how much pain he was feeling right now.

"We love each other. We love each other, don't we?" Darren asked, sounding like a dagger cutting into Vivi's heart. "We should continue to love each other happily, but why do we have to suffer now because of this separation?"

"I'm not happy, Darren. How can I be happy with a marriage that causes me so much pain and trauma?" Vivi spoke in a soft, shaky voice, making Darren's cries louder.
