Rosalyn's pov.

As the night stretched on, Lorcan's absence weighed heavily on my heart. I sat alone in the living room for who knows how long. I'm still feeling conflicted after that phone conversation.

But as expected, he didn't come home and I feel even sadder though I promised myself to move on. My eyes fixed on the name displayed on my phone, and our conversation time never exceeded a minute. It lacked both depth and intimacy that I longed for.

I curled on the couch. How come he only ever remembers me to give me command of what I needed to do? It constantly made me remember how inherently unequal our relationship is. The realisation hits me hard.
