Chapter 74

His breath came down and mingled with Ruth’s. It made her feel as if the air had become thinner.

She immediately became a little nervous and mumbled, “I don’t know the type of kisses you do.”

“I suppose it’s my fault for not teaching you.”

He drew closer while saying that.

Ruth moved back feeling unprecedentedly uneasy.

Her mind raced. “If you’re going to kiss me, do it! Stop moving so slowly to torment me! My heart’s about to reach the speed of light here!”

Just when his mouth was going to touch hers, there was a knock on the door. “Abel, Ruth, your food’s cold. Are you two done?”

Ruth whipped her head to the side and forced herself to sound calm. “We’re coming out soon. Start without us.”

Then, she turned to Abel and pointed to the door. “Your friend’s asking us to hurry up.”

Abel had stopped moving. He did not get up but did not give any answer either, as if he was doing this on purpose. He just stared at her intensely.
