"But, mom, do we really have to go to school? We could stay with you and keep you company," he smiled brightly, looking at his mother; her one word broke three of them.

"No, Milo, you are all going to school; you'll have fun."

Milo's face fell. "Come on, ma.."

She sent him an annoyed glare, and he shut up.

Maya sighed. She wanted them away from the manor as much as she could, far away from Damon and Derinem. Yeah, she knew Derinem had helped her last night, but for the sake of their safety, she didn't want him close to the kids.

Looking into Damon's eyes and seeing all the pent-up anger in his glare, she had to be careful, for he was like an untimed bomb just waiting to explode.

"But do we really have to go, mom? I want to stay with you."

She kissed his forehead. "I know, but you can't," she fixed the last of the buttons, "come on, let's go."

She walked out of the room with three of them; it was hard finding the way to the food, but as she moved, she recognized the stairs and went down
