I stare at the woman in front of me with a blank stare.

She is no longer the Lori I knew before. That woman was gentle and quiet, she cared about the welfare of others. But this one here couldn't muster the same feelings for me. Surely she wanted to keep the triplets hidden from me here in the primitive caves, or perhaps further away.

It all became clear to me now. Even though I had offered her everything I had, all she wanted were my pups. Without me, she wanted them all to herself. But the Moon Goddess was gracious to me, I dare not think what would have happened if I had not experienced the births myself.

I blinked my eyes a few times, trying to get a clear picture of her.

"I will not punish you, you are the mother of my children. I will never be Alpha to you, you have given me a new life, three in fact, and I am grateful for that," I say slowly. For a moment I see relief on her face, but then she is wary again.
