My Heart's Desire

Gazing at Dylan, I sensed the tension radiating from him; his expression was clouded with jealousy. My eyes fell to his clenched fist, a visible manifestation of his inner turmoil. An exclamation of realization escaped my lips as I whispered to myself, "Oh my God," a wave of concern hit me as I grasped the gravity of the situation.

Instinctively, I reached out and gently touched his tightly clenched fist, seeking to offer reassurance and comfort in the midst of his shown anger. Dylan turned towards me, his gaze meeting mine as I attempted to address the source of his distress. "Don't get it all wrong; Aaron and I have nothing together. We are just friends," I explained softly, hoping to alleviate his rising emotions.

"But he likes you," Dylan retorted, his words tinged with a hint of insecurity and unease.

"I know, but I don't feel the same way for him," I replied, meeting Dylan's gaze with sincerity. His grip on my hand tightened, seeking reassurance amidst his growing unease.
